BlockTok was built so that it never needs to know anything about you. There is no account to create, no server to sign in to, and nothing to sync.

The short version
- BlockTok does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.
- There is no analytics, telemetry, or third-party tracking in the extension.
- Your settings and usage counters live in your browser's local storage.
- Uninstalling the extension removes that data with it.
What BlockTok stores
Everything below is kept locally by your browser and is readable only by the extension on your own machine:
- Your settings. Focus hours, your watch-time allowance, the list of sites you chose to guard, and your language preference.
- Your watch-time counters. How much time has been spent on your guarded sites within the current rolling 3-hour window, so the budget can be enforced.
- Saved tabs. When you choose "save it for later", the page's URL and title are stored locally so you can return to it.
Permissions, and why they are needed
- Tabs. To tell which of your guarded sites is currently open, so time is counted against the right budget and the pause screen can be shown on the right tab.
- Storage. To keep your settings and counters on your device between browser sessions.
- Alarms. To run the rolling timer that tracks your budget and resets it as the window moves.
BlockTok reads page addresses only to decide whether a site is one you asked it to guard. It does not read page contents, and it does not send addresses anywhere.
What BlockTok does not do
- No account, login, or email address.
- No servers: the extension makes no network requests of its own.
- No advertising, profiling, or data brokers.
- No browsing history leaves your device.
Removing your data
Open BlockTok's settings and choose Reset all data to clear your settings, counters, and saved tabs. Uninstalling the extension has the same effect: the browser discards the extension's local storage along with it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Continuing to use BlockTok after a change means the current version of this page applies.
